Terms and conditions for purchase of a product or service
The following are the Terms and Conditions of The Empowering Partnership Ltd for the purchase of a product or
service from us.
Workshops, Seminars and Webinars
"Workshops, seminars and webinars" can include evening sessions.
Confidentiality: All work undertaken is in the strictest confidence. This applies both to the
organisers and facilitators of workshops and seminars and to participants. At no time should details about a
participant be divulged to people who did not attend the programme in such a way that they may be identified.
Pre-course administration: When you book, you will receive an e-mail confirmation and a
registration form. The registration form is to ensure we have all necessary information to support you before and
during the programme. By a week before the event you will also receive an e-mail giving any necessary “joining”
information for your attendance on the course (such as what to bring, breaks and lunch arrangements, directions,
etc)
Accommodation and travel: You will be responsible for arranging your own accommodation and
travel when and where it is needed.
Well-being: As with any learning and development programme, attendees should ensure that they
are medically fit to attend and if in doubt should consult a doctor. Some workshops and seminars involve a little
very mild cardio-vascular exercise and/or guided visualisation processes. Generally these are perfectly safe and
healthy. However, the workshops, seminars and webinars are not psychotherapy or counselling or intended as a
substitute for it. If in any doubt, attendees should consult their doctor to ensure their well-being is sufficient
for them to attend. If you have any medical condition that will affect your ability to take part, you should notify
the course organisers and facilitators when booking or at least 7 days in advance of the start day of the
course.
Cancellation and refunds: Full payment reserves you a place for a workshop, seminar or webinar.
Your booking can be cancelled by you at any time up to 1 month before the course start date with a refund less a
£10 administration fee. After that date, the fee is 50% refundable up to 2 weeks before the course, and within 2
weeks it is 100% non-refundable. If for unforeseen reasons we had to cancel, all money would be refunded.
The seminar, workshop or webinar will be confirmed at the latest 1 week, ie. 7 days, before the start date of
the course. That is the latest date at which it can if necessary be cancelled by us, barring extreme events.
Online webinars: All participants are responsible for ensuring their equipment, software and
internet connection are fully functioning in order to be able to take part in webinars and that all the connection
information have been fully followed. If in doubt, you should consult a computer specialist. We will provide all
the connection information to enable you to connect online to the session. It is possible to watch and listen in to
a webinar using a sound-enabled computer. However, if you wish talk during sessions at allocated times it
recommended that you also connect by Skype, for which instructions are provided and which is usually free.
Otherwise you will be provided with information about very low-cost lines such as Planet Talk (Primus Telecom), and
in that case the cost of the call is bourne by you. This is additional to any cost of the webinar itself.
Coaching
Payment: Payment is in advance by bank transfer or Paypal (Paypal has a credit card facility
available), to have reached our account at least 7 days before the relevant session in order to reserve the
session.
Cancellation: A cancelled or postponed session is payable for any reason, unless it can be
re-scheduled, if within 48 hours of the session. If a rescheduling takes place, any money paid for a session can be
carried across to the rescheduled session by agreement. If the coach cancels, which is rare, any money paid in
advance is refundable, or by agreement it can be carried forward to the next session.
Coaching by phone or internet: All coaching calls are to be made and paid for by the client or
coachee. We recommend the use of Skype, which is free when made to another Skype member.
Confidentiality: All work is strictly confidential.
Refunds for products
Returns and refunds policy: You can return your purchase to us in its original condition within
30 days of the date you received the item, with any seals and shrink-wrap intact, and we will issue a full refund
for the price you paid for the item. We can only accept the return of opened items if they are faulty. Please note
that we reserve the right to send back items to you that have been returned to us after 30 days unless they are
faulty. If you are returning an item because of an error on our part or, in accordance with our returns policy
because it is damaged or defective, we will refund the delivery charges incurred in sending the item to you and pay
your costs of returning it to us. When you send your item back to us, we'll process the returned item and then
notify you via e-mail of your refund. You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for
purchase within four weeks of our receiving your return.
Corporate services
Cancellation: We reserve the right to charge 100% of the fee for any agreed work that is
cancelled within 7 days of the agreed delivery dates(s), and 50% of the fee for a cancellation within 2 weeks of
that date or those dates.
Invoices: Where services are provided on an invoice basis, settlement terms are strictly 30
days payable.
Late payment: Under UK law (Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998), we
understand and will exercise our statutory right to claim interest and compensation for debt recovery costs under
the late payment legislation if we are not paid according to agreed credit terms.
General
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights under the Sale and Return of Goods Act 1979 (and
amendments).
We reserve the right to change the prices and the content and description of our products and services without
notice.
Minors: No goods or services are knowingly sold to people under the age of 18.
Ethics and complaints: We aim to work to standards that are consistent with those of the main
UK professional associations. John Gloster-Smith is bound by the code of ethics and complaints procedure of the
Association for Coaching and Akasha Lonsdale that of the British Association of Counsellors
and Psychotherapists. We take very seriously professional principles such as confidentiality, respect and the
duty of care for the client. Should anybody have a complaint about our work, we ask that they address it in the
first instance to the Empowering Partnership Ltd at the address below, and we will do our utmost to resolve the
matter. However if the matter is not resolved to his or her satisfaction they then of course have a right to
take the matter to the above relevant professional associations.
The applicable law for the provision of goods and services by the Empowering Partnership Ltd is that of England
and Wales.
