February’s Breath of Fresh Air  from Akasha Date: 22.02.06

February’s Breath of Fresh Air from Akasha....

Welcome to February’s Breath of Fresh Air…..and thank you so much to all of you who wrote and said how much you had enjoyed January’s. I really appreciated hearing from you and knowing that the mix had worked for you.

You might find that you get two copies of this newsletter – one HTML (with all the colour) and the other by plain text email. The reason for this is that last month a number of people weren’t able to open their copy because they either don’t have the HTML facility switched on or have it blocked so as not to receive spam.

If you are unable to receive HTML but would like to receive future issues….then please go to the “Update my details” box at the very bottom of this issue……and when you get into the site, just untick the HTML facility and you will always get a plain text version. If you then want to look at the full colour version, you can access this from the Newsletter Archive on our Home Page menu. Phew…….now down to the real business!

So here’s an overview for this issue.

* Feature:  Silence is Golden

* Ask yourself this

* To make you smile

* Because we like them………….

* Really useful information

Total read time:  5 minutes

Feature:  Silence is Golden

Well call me old fashioned...but you wouldn’t think so, would you? We live in a society of constant noise. Restaurants, shopping malls, hairdressers...everywhere noise. It seems that when there is silence, people want to fill it.

They put the TV on as soon as they get home or never turn it off if they’re at home by themselves. Why is that? I remember asking my mother that question because she always had the radio on even if it was really low. “It stops me from hearing my thoughts” she said.

I could understand that in some ways because of her war-time experiences but what’s the excuse for everyone else? Maybe it’s the same. Perhaps so many people are so unhappy and unfulfilled in their lives, that they need constant noise to avoid hearing their thoughts.

Have you ever noticed how uncomfortable people seem to get if there are gaps in conversation……..the dreaded “pregnant pause”. Several people usually jump in at the same moment in an attempt to break the tension that seems to build.

In our life changing programme The Bliss of Being we have a silent exercise which we do in two parts. The first part is usually really hard and the allocated time seems to stretch into eternity but the second time is much easier and it gets easier still.

That’s because the more comfortable we are in our selves, the more comfortable we will be with silence. Not all the time of course, I’m not suggesting a monastic existence - but taking time to be silent and still is essential for our wellbeing and nourishment of body, mind and spirit. It’s often in the quiet moments that answers to questions come and inspiration bubbles up but if you are constantly surrounding yourself with noise….you wouldn’t hear it even it screamed through a megaphone!

Ask yourself this:

* How comfortable are you with silence?
* Do you need constant noise?
* If so, what could you be avoiding?

Why not experiment and take some quiet moments this month. Stare out the window for no good reason or go for a walk in nature. You might be pleasantly surprised at the outcome and if you’re not, it could be helpful for you to work on why. We’d love to hear how you get on. Click here to tell us.

Quote by Deepak Chopra and Rumi

“Silence is the great teacher, and to learn its lessons you must pay attention to it. There is no substitute for the creative inspiration, knowledge and stability that come from knowing how to contact your core of inner silence. The great Sufi poet Rumi wrote, “Only let the moving waters calm down, and the sun and moon will be reflected on the surface of your being”

To make you Smile: Inner Peace

I am passing this on to you because it definitely worked for me and we could all do with a little calm. By following the simple advice I read in an article, I have finally found inner peace.

The article read:

“The way to achieve inner peace is to finish off all the things you have started”. So I looked around the house to see all the things I had started and not finished...and...before leaving the house this morning I finished off...a bottle of red wine, bottle of white wine, the Baileys, three Bacardi Breezers, the Jack Daniels, the Prozac, some Valium, some cheesecake and a box of chocolates. You have no idea how good I feel!!

Because we like them……

We decided that each month we would include a few links to other sites, either because we know the people concerned and think they are great or we were inspired by the site and wanted to share it with you. By the way, these are not affiliate links and no money is received for including them.

Here are some comments that have come in already:

"The content is excellent, with easy step by step instructions on how to get started, I did find initially though that I was dozing off on Track three !!, so it was very effective, however track four is deeply relaxing (Bliss Out), so an all round great product. If you're time challenged or have had a busy and tiring day then this is a great way of taking some deep relaxation and ensuring that you recharge yourself effectively"
Mike Yates, Managing Director, www.121business.co.uk

"Thank you for making such a wonderful product. It is ideal for busy people. Short, to the point and very effective. I found the energy booster on track 3 great to use in the afternoon when my energy takes a dip after lunch"
Jeanne Gwynne, Director, www.women-and-wealth.com

We'll email you over all the information and links as soon as everything is in place for you to buy this online.
